Marking a decisive leap for diagnostic imaging in South Asia, Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research (SRIHER) has commissioned South Asia’s first state-of-the-art, fully loaded GE Revolution Apex Elite 512-slice Spectral CT scanner at Sri Ramachandra Hospital, Chennai, reinforcing its role as a regional pioneer in advanced healthcare deployment.
The landmark facility was inaugurated by Dr. T.S. Swaminathan, Former Director, Barnard Institute of Radiology, Madras Medical College, in the presence of Chancellor V.R. Venkataachalam, underscoring SRIHER’s commitment to introducing globally benchmarked technology to South Asia.

The GE Revolution Apex Elite sets new standards in speed, safety and diagnostic confidence. Its cutting-edge design delivers high-resolution images at significantly lower radiation doses, enabling clinicians to diagnose complex conditions with greater accuracy while prioritising patient comfort. The system’s rapid acquisition allows many scans to be completed in a single breath-hold, reducing motion artefacts and improving workflow efficiency—critical in emergency and critical care settings.
