GANDHINAGAR, JAN 25

The Bharat Centre of Olympic Research & Education (BCORE) at Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU)—an institution officially recognised by the International Olympic Committee (IOC)—has announced the 2nd Edition of the International Olympic Research Conference, scheduled to be held from January 27 to 30, 2026.

Positioned as one of the most significant academic gatherings in the global Olympic ecosystem, the four-day conference will bring together an elite international network of scholars, practitioners, policymakers, scientists and sports administrators dedicated to advancing research, governance and education within the Olympic movement. BCORE hosts this flagship conference annually during the same period, reinforcing India’s growing stature as a hub for Olympic research and policy dialogue.

The upcoming edition will feature over 55 national and international speakers and presenters from 15 countries, underscoring BCORE’s strong commitment to cross-cultural collaboration and evidence-based sports policy development. More than 100 research papers will be presented during the conference, spanning a broad spectrum of themes including global sports governance, transparency in sport, the Olympic movement, Commonwealth Games, anti-doping frameworks, affordable sports technology solutions, and the critical role of sports education in nation-building.

A major highlight of the 2026 conference will be a comprehensive workshop and expert-led deliberation on anti-doping, organised in collaboration with the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA). Featuring leading scientists, researchers and subject-matter experts, the session aims to address the persistent challenges posed by doping scandals to the integrity of international sport. The forum will enable stakeholders to exchange insights, share global best practices, and explore innovative strategies to strengthen clean sport initiatives worldwide.

The conference is expected to witness strong participation from the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, further deepening national engagement with global Olympic research platforms. Distinguished international guests will include the President of the International Olympic Academy (Greece), executive members of the Perth World Police and Fire Games Organising Committee, and representatives from National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of France, Russia and Brazil, alongside other prominent global sports leaders.

The presence of such eminent institutions and personalities highlights India’s expanding influence in shaping global sports research, governance frameworks and policy discourse, positioning BCORE and Rashtriya Raksha University as pivotal contributors to the future of the Olympic movement.
