In a powerful celebration of endurance, heritage and national pride, the Border Security Force will organise the ‘BSF Run – Road to Heaven’, a high-endurance adventure run at the iconic Road to Heaven in Dholavira, nestled deep within the Rann of Kutch, on Sunday, February 1, 2026.

The landmark event forms part of the BSF’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, marking 60 years of service to the nation, and aims to promote fitness, determination, national pride and heritage, while underscoring the strategic and cultural significance of India’s border regions.

Open to fitness enthusiasts and runners aged 14 years and above, the run invites both civilians and defence personnel to test their limits in one of India’s most dramatic natural settings. Participants competing under the defence category will be required to present a valid identity card at the time of registration.

The marathon features three distance categories — 10 km, 30 km and 60 km Ultra Run, enabling athletes of varying skill levels to participate. Top performers in each category will be awarded, with special award categories earmarked for defence personnel.

Participants will get a rare opportunity to run near Dholavira, the world-famous site of the Harappan Civilization and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, set against the breath-taking expanse of the white salt desert.

The marathon is being organised in collaboration with Krish Sports & Fitness LLP and Choice International, and is supported by Khelo India and Gujarat Tourism. The initiative reflects a powerful convergence of national priorities — fitness, heritage and pride — while bringing national and global attention to the stark beauty and cultural legacy of the Rann of Kutch.

Notably, the event carries AIMS Certification, reaffirming adherence to the highest standards of course accuracy, athlete safety, medical preparedness and professional race governance.
