- Forum demands inclusion of Central Government pensioners in 8th Pay Commission benefits

AHMEDABAD, FEB 12
Under the banner of the Forum of Civilian Pensioners Association, several pensioners’ bodies have announced a state-level dharna in Ahmedabad on February 13, 2026, protesting against what they describe as stringent provisions introduced through the Finance Bill 2025, which they allege deprive Central Government pensioners of certain existing benefits.
The Forum has also demanded that Central Government pensioners be included in the benefits announced under the 8th Pay Commission.
The dharna will be organised near Sardar Baug, Ahmedabad, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday. Participating organisations include the Central Government Pensioners Association, P&T Pensioners Association, BSNL Pensioners Association, and DOT Pensioners Association.
A memorandum addressed to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, bearing signatures of civilian pensioners, will be submitted at 4:30 pm on February 13, 2026, to the Ahmedabad District Collector, for onward transmission to the Prime Minister.
The protest gathering will be addressed by several representatives, including:
