Adani Group today unveiled one of the world’s most ambitious integrated energy-compute commitments, announcing a direct investment of USD 100 billion to build renewable-energy-powered, hyperscale AI-ready data centre infrastructure by 2035. The transformative initiative is designed to establish India’s sovereign energy and compute backbone and position the nation at the forefront of the emerging global Intelligence Revolution.
The massive capital deployment is expected to catalyse an additional USD 150 billion across server manufacturing, sovereign cloud platforms, advanced electrical infrastructure, and supporting industries, creating a projected USD 250 billion AI infrastructure ecosystem in India over the next decade.
At the core of the initiative lies a fully integrated model combining renewable power generation, transmission infrastructure, and hyperscale AI compute within a unified national architecture—creating one of the world’s largest coordinated energy-compute platforms.

Building India’s Largest Sovereign AI Compute Platform
The initiative builds on the Group’s existing national data centre platform through AdaniConneX, which currently stands at 2 GW capacity and is being expanded to a planned 5 GW hyperscale AI compute infrastructure, positioning India among the most powerful digital infrastructure hubs globally.
Strategic collaborations with global technology leaders including Google and Microsoft will accelerate the development of gigawatt-scale AI data centre campuses across key locations such as Visakhapatnam, Noida, Hyderabad, and Pune.
In parallel, the Group is strengthening its partnership with Flipkart to develop a second high-performance AI data centre designed to support next-generation digital commerce, high-performance computing, and large-scale AI workloads.
Integrated Energy-Compute Architecture: A Global First
Unlike conventional data centre expansions, Adani’s blueprint integrates renewable power generation, resilient grid infrastructure, and hyperscale AI compute into a single coordinated ecosystem.
The platform will feature:
- Renewable-energy-powered hyperscale AI data centres
- High-density compute clusters supporting next-generation AI workloads
- Advanced liquid cooling and high-efficiency power systems
- Dedicated infrastructure for Indian Large Language Models (LLMs) and sovereign cloud platforms
- Reliable transmission networks ensuring scalability, uptime, and resilience
This integrated approach ensures both energy security and compute sovereignty, critical for national technological independence.
Leveraging India’s Renewable Energy Advantage
A cornerstone of the initiative is Adani Green Energy Limited’s massive renewable energy portfolio, including the landmark 30 GW Khavda renewable energy project, one of the world’s largest clean energy developments, with over 10 GW already operational.
The Group has additionally committed USD 55 billion to further expand renewable capacity, including one of the world’s largest battery energy storage systems (BESS), ensuring uninterrupted, carbon-neutral energy supply for AI infrastructure.
Strategic cable landing stations across Adani’s port network will provide high-speed global connectivity, integrating India seamlessly with digital networks across the Americas, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
Strengthening Aatmanirbhar AI Supply Chains and National Sovereignty
To reduce dependence on global supply chains, the Adani Group will co-invest in domestic manufacturing of critical infrastructure components such as transformers, power electronics, inverters, and advanced thermal management systems.
This initiative positions India not only as a global data hub but also as a producer and exporter of next-generation compute infrastructure, reinforcing national technological sovereignty.
Aligned with national priorities such as PM Gati Shakti, the Group is embedding AI-driven intelligence across its logistics, ports, and industrial operations, creating hyper-efficient, digitally enabled infrastructure ecosystems.
Democratising AI Compute and Building India’s Talent Pipeline
A key pillar of the initiative is ensuring broad access to high-performance compute capacity. Dedicated GPU infrastructure will support Indian AI startups, research institutions, and deep-tech innovators, addressing compute shortages and enabling domestic AI innovation at scale.
In parallel, the Group will partner with academic institutions to establish specialised AI infrastructure engineering programs, applied research labs, and national fellowships aimed at building India’s next generation of AI infrastructure talent.
