In a historic fusion of horsepower and human imagination, Dastan Autoworld – The Pranlal Bhogilal Collection will host India’s first-ever Car & Cinema Festival from February 27 to March 1, marking a glittering milestone as the legendary vintage automobile museum celebrates its 25th anniversary.
Set within its sprawling heritage premises in Kathwada, the festival represents a bold cultural innovation—bringing together rare vintage automobiles and cinematic masterpieces that have elevated cars from mere machines into enduring symbols of aspiration, power, and storytelling.
Conceived by custodians Chamundeshwari Bhogilal Chinai and Brijesh Chinai, the event reflects a visionary attempt to bridge engineering excellence with cinematic emotion, offering visitors an immersive cultural journey unlike any seen before in India.
Where Machines Become Memories and Movies Become Motion
Speaking on the occasion, Chamundeshwari Bhogilal Chinai emphasised the emotional and cultural essence behind the initiative:
“As we complete twenty-five years of Dastan Autoworld, we wished to create an experience that honours not only the craftsmanship of these remarkable automobiles but also the stories they have inspired on screen. Cars have always been more than machines; they are symbols of aspiration, innovation, and emotion. Through this festival, we invite audiences to witness that unique dialogue between engineering and cinema.”
The festival’s thoughtfully curated film screenings will explore how automobiles have shaped cinematic narratives across generations—from symbols of rebellion and romance to power, prestige, and transformation.
Brijesh Chinai highlighted the festival’s broader vision of cultural preservation and innovation:
“Dastan Autoworld has always been about preserving living history. With the Car & Cinema Festival, we are extending that philosophy—allowing visitors to experience how automotive heritage continues to inspire art, storytelling, and imagination.”
A Living Museum of Global Automotive Royalty
Widely regarded as one of India’s most significant automotive heritage institutions, the museum houses over 100 rare and iconic automobiles, including legendary marques such as Rolls‑Royce, Bentley, Maybach, Cadillac, Mercedes‑Benz, Lagonda, and Auburn—each representing a chapter in global automotive evolution.
Founded on the legacy of renowned collector and industrialist Pranlal Bhogilal, the collection stands today as a living archive of engineering artistry, design excellence, and cultural heritage.
Driving Ahmedabad Into India’s Cultural Fast Lane
The festival is poised to attract automobile enthusiasts, film lovers, collectors, corporate leaders, and families—positioning Ahmedabad as a pioneering hub for experiential heritage events that transcend traditional museum boundaries.
By merging the timeless elegance of vintage automobiles with the emotional power of cinema, the Car & Cinema Festival redefines how heritage is experienced—not as static display, but as a living, breathing story of innovation, ambition, and artistic expression.
As engines of the past meet the storytelling of the silver screen, Dastan Autoworld is not merely celebrating 25 years—it is driving India into a new era of cultural storytelling.
