Welcoming the Finnish leader, the Prime Minister wrote on X: “Welcome to India, President Alexander Stubb. I fully agree with you, your visit will take India-Finland relations to new heights. I eagerly look forward to our meeting tomorrow and to your keynote address at the Raisina Dialogue 2026.”
President Stubb had earlier announced his visit on social media, outlining the significance of the trip. He posted:
“I will meet with President of India @rashtrapatibhvn and Prime Minister @narendramodi as well as other members of the state leadership. The visit will further strengthen the relations between Finland and India – including in the area of trade.”
According to official sources, President Stubb will hold comprehensive discussions with Prime Minister Modi, focusing on strengthening bilateral cooperation across sectors such as trade, clean energy, digital innovation, education, sustainability and emerging technologies. Regional and global issues of mutual interest are also expected to feature prominently in the talks.
The Raisina Dialogue, India’s flagship geopolitical and geo-economic conference, brings together global leaders, policymakers, strategic thinkers and industry captains. President Stubb’s role as Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker underscores the growing strategic depth between New Delhi and Helsinki.
India and Finland have steadily expanded cooperation in areas such as renewable energy, circular economy, 5G/6G technologies, Arctic research, sustainable forestry and education partnerships. Finland’s globally recognised expertise in clean technologies and digital governance aligns with India’s push for green growth and digital public infrastructure.
Diplomatic observers note that the visit comes at a time when India is deepening its engagement with Nordic and European partners amid shifting global supply chains and a rapidly evolving security architecture. Enhanced trade flows, investments in innovation ecosystems and collaboration in climate action are expected to be key outcomes of the visit.
Prime Minister Modi, in his official statement released by the Press Information Bureau, reiterated his optimism that the State Visit would further strengthen bilateral relations between India and Finland.
With high-level meetings lined up and a global audience set to tune in to the Raisina Dialogue, President Stubb’s visit is being seen as a defining moment in the next phase of India–Finland strategic cooperation.
