NEW DELHI, MAR 10
In a major push to connect Indian entrepreneurs with global markets, Walmart has opened registrations for the India Growth Summit 2026, an initiative designed to help Indian businesses expand domestically and internationally through digital commerce and global supply chains.
Scheduled for May 7, 2026, at the iconic Bharat Mandapam, the second edition of the summit will bring together micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), digital-first brands, direct-to-consumer (D2C) sellers and supply chain innovators eager to explore opportunities in global retail through Walmart’s ecosystem.
Registration will remain open until April 23, 2026, inviting Indian businesses to join the Walmart Marketplace and expand their reach through cross-border eCommerce.
The initiative also aligns with the Government of India’s Make in India campaign, encouraging exports in sectors such as home textiles, consumables, health and wellness, food products, general merchandise, jewellery, apparel, footwear, toys and stationery.
Platform for Global Expansion
The summit will feature a high-level executive session where participants will hear directly from Walmart’s leadership, followed by curated learning modules designed to help entrepreneurs scale operations, understand global retail trends and access international customers.
Attendees will also get the opportunity to register directly on Walmart Marketplace, enabling them to tap into global demand through cross-border trade.
A dedicated Resource Center will provide one-on-one advisory support, helping businesses navigate onboarding processes, compliance requirements and export logistics with guidance from Walmart’s category teams and industry experts.
Empowering Indian Entrepreneurs
“At Walmart, we are passionate about helping businesses thrive on the global stage,” said Manish Joneja, Senior Vice President, Walmart Marketplace.
“The India Growth Summit 2026 reflects our commitment to innovation and helping sellers and suppliers grow in global markets. We’re excited to work with Indian entrepreneurs to scale their businesses and reach customers worldwide.”
Building Global Opportunities for MSMEs
Since its launch in 2019, Walmart’s Vriddhi Supplier Development Program has trained over 70,000 MSMEs across India, equipping them with tools, knowledge and market access to scale their businesses.
The company now plans to train an additional 100,000 MSMEs by 2028, strengthening India’s export ecosystem and expanding participation in global retail networks.
With over 1.4 million sellers on Flipkart, the summit will also provide entrepreneurs with insights into international commerce and help create pathways for eligible MSMEs to enter global markets.
Driving Innovation in Global Retail
The India Growth Summit 2026 will also serve as a platform for innovation, exposing suppliers to emerging retail technologies, evolving consumer expectations and tools for international expansion.
The initiative builds on Walmart’s successful supplier-development programs in markets such as Mexico, Chile, Canada, South Africa and the United States, where local businesses have successfully integrated into Walmart’s global supply chain.
Selected applicants will be invited to attend the summit in person, gaining a rare opportunity to connect with Walmart’s leadership teams, industry experts and fellow entrepreneurs from across India.
Businesses interested in participating can register through Walmart’s official summit portal.
