JETALPUR, AHMEDABAD, MAR 11
In a major citizen outreach initiative, the Unique Identification Authority of India organised a dedicated Aadhaar Seva Camp in Jetalpur near Ahmedabad, helping residents conveniently access Aadhaar enrolment and update services.
The week-long camp, held from March 5 to March 11, 2026, was organised following a request from the committee managing the Shri Swaminarayan Temple Trust as part of the bicentennial celebrations of the historic Swaminarayan temple.
The initiative enabled thousands of residents and visitors to update or enrol for Aadhaar, ensuring easier access to government welfare schemes, financial services and digital platforms that require Aadhaar authentication.
Focus on Children’s Biometric Updates

One of the major highlights of the camp was the mandatory biometric update facility for children aged between 5 and 17 years, which UIDAI provides free of cost. Officials emphasised that updating biometrics at the prescribed age helps maintain accurate and reliable Aadhaar records, which are essential for education, scholarships and future digital services.
To make the outreach more engaging, UIDAI’s mascot ‘UDAI’ interacted with children and families at the venue, spreading awareness about Aadhaar as a secure and reliable digital identity.
Temple Trust and Officials Encourage Participation
Senior representatives of the temple trust and UIDAI officials visited the camp and encouraged people to utilise the services being offered.
Among those present were Mahant Swami Shastri Atma Prakash Das, H.H. Vrajendra Prasadji Maharaj, and Rajesh Kumar Gupta, Director of the UIDAI State Office in Ahmedabad, along with the IEC Manager from UIDAI Regional Office Mumbai.
A large digital information screen installed at the venue showcased Aadhaar services, features of the mAadhaar app and other new tools designed to simplify identity management for citizens.
Officials said such outreach initiatives are aimed at making Aadhaar services more accessible, strengthening digital inclusion and ensuring that every resident can benefit from India’s expanding digital governance ecosystem.
