In a strong display of grassroots mobilisation and political messaging, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) conducted a grand policy awareness public meeting and welfare assistance distribution programme in R.K. Nagar constituency, Chennai, reaffirming the party’s growing presence in Tamil Nadu’s evolving political landscape.
The event, held at Sunnambu Kalvaai on Manali Road in Korukkupet, was organised under the guidance of party president Vijay and General Secretary N. Anand, drawing enthusiastic participation from party cadres, district functionaries, and local residents.

The programme was spearheaded by Dr. N. Marie Wilson, the party’s R.K. Nagar Assembly constituency candidate, and witnessed an impressive turnout from leaders representing multiple organisational wings, including youth, women, labour, legal, media, IT, student, fisherfolk and traders’ wings.
Welfare outreach for 500 beneficiaries
As part of TVK’s outreach to economically vulnerable communities, welfare assistance was distributed to 500 beneficiaries from the R.K. Nagar constituency. Party leaders said the initiative reflected TVK’s commitment to inclusive governance, grassroots empowerment and social equity.
The programme was conducted under the leadership of G. Velu, Chennai North East District Secretary, with the participation of circle secretaries from Circles 38 to 47, reinforcing the party’s organisational depth in North Chennai.
Nanjil Sampath Explains Party Vision
The highlight of the meeting was the address by noted political orator Nanjil Sampath, popularly known as “Sollin Selvar”, who participated as the party’s Policy Explainer (Kolghai Vilakka Paechalar).
With his characteristic rhetorical style, Sampath elaborated on the party’s policy framework and the governance vision articulated by Vijay, drawing repeated applause from the gathering.
“Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam stands for equality, social justice and people-centric governance. Our policies are designed to bring real change in the lives of ordinary citizens,” Sampath said.
He further emphasised that the party’s mission was to translate people’s aspirations into transparent governance and equitable development across Tamil Nadu.

Party leaders reiterated that TVK is preparing to contest the upcoming Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections under the ‘Whistle’ symbol, with the goal of taking its message of reform and social transformation to every household.
“The overwhelming participation at this meeting reflects the rising confidence people have in Thalapathy Vijay’s leadership and the future vision of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam,” party organisers stated.
