NE DEFENCE BUREAU
AHMEDABAD, APR 1
In a significant relief for defence aspirants, the Indian Army has extended the last date for online registration for the Online Common Entrance Examination (CEE) 2026 for recruitment as Agniveer and Junior Commissioned Officers/Other Ranks.
The registration, which was earlier scheduled to close on April 1, will now remain open till April 10, 2026, offering candidates additional time to complete their applications.
“Keeping Aspirations in Mind”
Officials said the decision was taken to accommodate the large number of applicants:
“Keeping in view of candidates’ aspirations, the registration has been extended till 10 April 2026.”
Who Benefits
The extension applies to candidates from 21 districts of Gujarat—including Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot region clusters—and the Union Territories of Daman and Dadra & Nagar Haveli, covering a wide recruitment base under the Army’s outreach.
Why This Matters
The Online CEE is a critical gateway for entry into the Indian Army under the Agniveer scheme and other ranks, with increasing competition and digital-first recruitment processes.
Officials emphasise that the extension ensures:
- Wider participation from rural and urban aspirants
- Equal opportunity for late applicants
- Streamlined, transparent recruitment through online systems
