COVID-19 has reached Rashtrapati Bhawan, after one person working there tested COVID-19 positive, The Hindu has reported today.
According to reports, more than 100 families residing within the Rashtrapati Bhawan have been quarantined to ensure that the virus does not infect more people.
“However, the main Rashtrapati Bhavan, where President Ram Nath Kovind and his family stays, has not been affected”, the report says.
President Kovind had quarantined himself on March 19 after Dholpur MP Dushyant Singh attended a breakfast meeting with him. Dushyant had earlier attended a wedding party in Lucknow in which Bollywood playback singer Kanika Kapoor was also a participant and later tested positive. Dushyant had subsequently quarantined himself.
