Putting student innovation at the forefront, Adani University hosted a series of model-based competitions through its Department of Civil and Infrastructure Engineering, spotlighting practical solutions to contemporary urban and infrastructure challenges.
The Smart and Sustainable City Model Competition witnessed participation from 17 teams, with nearly 45 to 50 students from colleges across Ahmedabad presenting physical models addressing pressing issues such as urban congestion, environmental sustainability, resource management, and infrastructure resilience.
Adopting a systems-driven approach, these projects integrated renewable energy, water and waste management, and smart mobility solutions — reflecting scalable, real-world urban planning frameworks.
Running parallel, the Bridge Model Competition saw 13 teams, comprising 35 to 40 students, demonstrate structural concepts focused on load-bearing efficiency and engineering fundamentals. The models highlighted a strong blend of technical precision and creative design thinking.
Together, the competitions extended learning beyond classrooms, fostering experimentation, collaboration, and applied knowledge — a testament to Adani University’s commitment to preparing students for evolving demands in urban development and infrastructure design.
