In a strategic push to capture India’s fast-growing home and SME internet market, Ishan Technologies has rebranded its retail broadband services from Ishan Broadband to ‘Mera Broadband’, alongside an aggressive expansion of high-speed connectivity across Gujarat.
The rollout will initially focus on major urban centres, including Ahmedabad, Surat, and Rajkot, where demand for faster, more reliable internet continues to surge.
Riding India’s Data Consumption Boom
The rebranding comes amid a sharp rise in broadband usage driven by streaming, remote work, online gaming, and cloud-based services. Gujarat, in particular, has witnessed steady growth in broadband penetration, with consumers increasingly demanding higher speeds, lower latency, and consistent uptime.
With Mera Broadband, the company aims to realign its offerings with these evolving consumption patterns while strengthening its last-mile delivery and network capacity.
Leadership Speaks: Focus on Infrastructure & Quality
Commenting on the transformation, Pinkesh Kotecha, Chairman and Managing Director, said: “This phase of expansion builds on Ishan’s broader investments in network modernisation and digital infrastructure, including earlier upgrades undertaken with global technology partners such as Nokia, which have enabled the company to scale its broadband capabilities and improve service quality.”
Customer-Centric Plans, Premium Positioning
Mera Broadband introduces a refreshed, flexible approach to internet plans tailored to households and small businesses. The company is positioning the brand as a boutique, high-quality service provider focused on advanced offerings and superior customer support.
Currently present across 27 cities in Gujarat, Ishan plans to deepen its footprint further while targeting a customer base of 500,000 subscribers over the next few years.
Scaling with Strategic Tech Partnerships
The expansion is underpinned by continued investments in digital infrastructure and collaborations with global technology players such as Nokia, enabling enhanced broadband capabilities and improved user experience.
