In a powerful blend of spirituality, compassion and corporate social responsibility, Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani on Sunday launched a major healthcare initiative in Bihar aimed at restoring vision and hope for thousands of underprivileged people.
Accompanied by Adani Foundation Chairperson Priti Adani, the industrialist performed the Bhoomi Pujan for the upcoming Adani Centre for Eye Diseases (ACE) in Mastichak area of Bihar’s Saran district, in collaboration with the renowned Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital.

The initiative is being viewed as one of the Adani Group’s most ambitious healthcare-focused CSR projects in eastern India.
“Restoring Eyesight Means Restoring Dignity”
Addressing devotees, healthcare workers and local residents, Gautam Adani delivered an emotional message that transformed the event from a corporate ceremony into a deeply human story.
“Restoring the light in someone’s eyes is not merely treatment. It is the sacred act of bringing back hope, self-confidence and dignity into their life,” Adani said.
His remarks resonated strongly among the gathering, particularly patients and families from rural Bihar who often struggle to access affordable specialised healthcare.
The Adani Group chief also visited the Gayatri Shaktipeeth in the region and participated in spiritual rituals before the foundation ceremony, describing Bihar as “a sacred land that gives new consciousness to the nation.”
₹700 Crore Commitment for Service and Humanity
In a significant announcement, Gautam Adani revealed that the Adani Akhand Jyoti Trust would extend support exceeding ₹700 crore in the coming years for humanitarian and healthcare initiatives.
“Seva Hi Sadhana Hai is not just a slogan for us. It is our inspiration to transform compassion into action,” he said.
The announcement marks a major expansion of the Adani Group’s social outreach activities, particularly in healthcare, rural welfare and medical education.
Affordable Eye Care for Rural India
The upcoming ACE facility is expected to focus on delivering affordable and accessible eye treatment for economically weaker sections across Bihar and neighbouring regions.
Healthcare experts associated with the project said the centre will especially benefit patients suffering from cataract-related blindness, untreated vision disorders and preventable eye diseases in rural belts.
The initiative also reflects growing private-sector participation in bridging healthcare gaps in underserved parts of India.
Training the Next Generation of Eye Specialists
Apart from treatment facilities, the project will also establish the Adani Training Centre for Ophthalmic Medicine (ATOM), aimed at developing future ophthalmologists and skilled women healthcare workers.
According to the organisers, the programme seeks to empower rural women through healthcare training while simultaneously addressing the shortage of specialised eye-care professionals in India.
The initiative is expected to create employment opportunities while strengthening preventive healthcare awareness at the grassroots level.
Spirituality Meets Social Service
One of the most striking aspects of the event was the fusion of spirituality and social service.
Adani praised the efforts of the Gayatri family, Akhand Jyoti Foundation and spiritual leader Mrityunjay Ji for their humanitarian work, saying their service philosophy had “deeply touched” him.
