In an inspiring celebration of academic excellence and women’s empowerment, the Navasamaj Women’s Forum commemorated its third anniversary by honouring outstanding girl students who excelled in the Class X and Class XII public examinations at a grand function held at the Anna Centenary Library in Chennai.
The event, presided over by R. Kalaichelvi, President of the Navasamaj Women’s Forum, noted writer, poet and former Deputy Secretary to the Tamil Nadu Secretariat, brought together educationists, government officials, students and social leaders to celebrate the achievements of young women.

Delivering the special address, Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly Additional Secretary Thenmozhi lauded the determination and academic excellence of girl students, stressing that recognising merit inspires many more young women to pursue higher goals.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of the ‘Sadhanai Pen’ (Achiever Woman) Awards to girl students who secured top marks at the State level in the Class X and Class XII board examinations. The awardees received cash prizes, certificates and commemorative honours in recognition of their exceptional performance.
The Forum also felicitated a student who had secured 100 marks in four major subjects during the previous academic year, presenting her with a special award, certificate and incentive grant.
In addition, winners of various academic, literary and cultural competitions organised by the Forum were presented with certificates and awards, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to encouraging holistic development among young women.
The ceremony witnessed the participation of Navasamaj Women’s Forum executive committee members Sabitha, Bhuvaneswari, Lalitha Lakshmi, Chandramoni, Pitchumani, Selvi Rajamohan and Sangeetha Manimaran, among others.
Prominent Navasamaj office-bearers, including State President Dr. Anbanandam, General Secretary Panwar, Organising Secretary Balachander, Treasurer Sekar Babu and State Media Coordinator K.N. Vadivel, were also present on the occasion.
The event reinforced the message that recognising academic excellence and empowering young women through education remain vital pillars for building a progressive and inclusive society.
