AHMEDABAD, JUNE 30
At a time when thousands of aspiring Chartered Accountants compete every year for quality articleship opportunities, the Chartered Accountants Association, Ahmedabad (CAAA) is set to bridge the gap between talent and opportunity through the fourth edition of its flagship Articleship Mela, a first-of-its-kind structured placement platform that has rapidly evolved into one of Gujarat’s most trusted recruitment ecosystems for CA students and firms.
Celebrating its Platinum Jubilee (75 years), CAAA announced that Articleship Mela – Edition 4.0 will be held on Friday-July 3, 2026, at the Gujarat Sports Club, Ahmedabad, offering first-year CA students direct access to reputed Chartered Accountant firms through an intelligent matching process and on-the-spot interviews.
Participation for students is free, while firms can register for ₹2,500.
Students can register onlineon July 1 or directly report at the venue from 10 a.m. onwards.
Unlike conventional recruitment drives where students approach firms individually, the Articleship Mela uses a structured digital matching system that maps students’ preferred domains—Audit, Taxation, GST and Internal Audit—with firms’ recruitment requirements and location preferences, significantly improving the quality and efficiency of placements.
Addressing the media, CAAA President Dr. Anjali Choksi said the initiative has grown into a landmark event because it addresses one of the profession’s biggest challenges.
“Every year, thousands of commerce and CA students struggle to identify the right articleship opportunities, while firms also face difficulty in finding candidates aligned to their specialised practice areas. The CAAA Articleship Mela bridges this gap through a structured and transparent matching process instead of conventional walk-in recruitment. This year’s edition has received an overwhelming response from 35 leading CA firms across Ahmedabad, offering a large number of quality articleship opportunities under one roof. The continued trust that both firms and students place in the CAAA Articleship Mela has shaped it into a true institution.”
Highlighting the changing nature of the accounting profession, she said Articleship Mela 4.0 has evolved to meet the demands of the digital era.
“Today’s CA firms are looking beyond academic scores. They expect articled assistants to possess analytical ability, technology orientation, AI awareness, data analytics exposure, communication skills, ethical professionalism and problem-solving capabilities. Our Platinum Jubilee edition reflects this transformation by creating not merely a placement event but a complete ecosystem that supports future-ready Chartered Accountants.”
Dr. Choksi added that the Association is committed to supporting students throughout their professional journey.
“We are building much more than an Articleship Mela. Through mentoring initiatives, AI workshops, professional networking, paid assistant placements, collaborations with educational institutions and continuous skill-development programmes, CAAA aims to create a year-round talent platform that nurtures students from classroom to career.”
She further added that ‘as part of our 75th anniversary, we are planning to cover UG, PG commerce students by imparting latest skills so as to make them future-ready.”
Explaining the uniqueness of the initiative, CA Bishan Shah, Chief Coordinator, Articleship Mela, said the platform has replaced randomness with precision.
“We are eliminating randomness and introducing structure, so students are aligned with the right firms and firms meet candidates who are serious, focused and matched to their requirements. Edition 4.0 extends that philosophy beyond articleship—to paid staff recruitment, professional training, collaboration and long-term career development. This is CAAA creating a full-circle ecosystem.”
Referring to the new ICAI curriculum, he said the event directly supports practical learning and employability.
“The revised CA curriculum places greater emphasis on practical competencies and industry readiness. The Articleship Mela enables students to interact directly with practising Chartered Accountants, understand firms’ expectations and begin their professional journey in an environment that strengthens both technical knowledge and workplace skills. Ultimately, this improves the quality of practical training and enhances employability.”
He also highlighted the financial benefits available to students.
“As per ICAI guidelines, first-year articled assistants are entitled to a minimum stipend of ₹4,000 per month and second-year students ₹5,000 per month. However, many reputed CA firms participating in the Mela offer stipends of ₹10,000 or even higher, making it an excellent opportunity for deserving students.”
Vice-president CA Mayur Modha, honorary secretaries CA Sulabh Padshah and CA Parth Desai were also present during the interaction.
