Spread across an expansive 7,000 sq. ft., the redesigned branch combines advanced digital capabilities with personalised advisory services, reinforcing the bank’s long-term commitment to Chennai—one of India’s most dynamic commercial and financial hubs.
The branch was inaugurated by Amitabh Chaudhry, MD & CEO, Axis Bank, in the presence of senior bank leaders, marking a significant milestone in the evolution of the Anna Salai branch, which has been serving customers since 2003.
Designed to deliver a superior customer experience, the new facility houses an exclusive Burgundy Private Lounge featuring modern meeting rooms for customised wealth management consultations, alongside upgraded ATMs, enhanced customer interaction zones, a dedicated gold loan facility and an expanded locker room with increased capacity.
A key differentiator of the new branch is the co-location of the Commercial Banking Group (CBG) team, enabling closer collaboration between corporate, retail and wealth banking divisions to provide integrated financial solutions for businesses and individuals alike.
Commenting on the launch, Sanjeev Moghe, Group Head – Branch Banking, South, Axis Bank, said:
“As customer expectations evolve, banks must continuously reimagine how they serve customers and build deeper relationships. Our ‘Branch of the Future’ in Chennai reflects that evolution, bringing together modern infrastructure, specialised services and integrated banking capabilities under one roof. This investment underscores our commitment to one of India’s most vibrant economic centres and our focus on serving the evolving needs of customers across retail, wealth and commercial banking.”
The inauguration also brought together clients and stakeholders from across Axis Bank’s ecosystem, including large corporates, mid-corporates, SMEs, the Financial Institutions Group (FIG), and Burgundy Private customers, underscoring the bank’s growing engagement with Chennai’s diverse business community.
With its latest ‘Branch of the Future’, Axis Bank is positioning physical branches as high-value relationship centres that combine digital convenience with personalised advisory services, reflecting the changing expectations of India’s increasingly sophisticated banking customers.
