AHMEDABAD, JULY 4

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Saturday reviewed the progress of the Ahmedabad Bullet Train Station, one of the most critical components of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail Corridor, and interacted with engineers and construction teams driving India’s flagship high-speed rail project.

During his visit to the construction site, the Railway Minister undertook a comprehensive assessment of the station works and the associated infrastructure, observing that the Ahmedabad segment involves some of the most challenging engineering tasks along the corridor, including multiple crossings over existing railway lines and flyovers.

Reviewing the construction of the multi-storey station building and its approach infrastructure, Vaishnaw directed officials to maintain the current pace of execution to ensure the project is completed within the scheduled timeline.

The Minister also spent time interacting with engineers, project managers and construction personnel, enquiring about their work, well-being and on-site experience while appreciating their commitment to one of India’s most ambitious infrastructure missions.

Commending the workforce, Ashwini Vaishnaw appreciated the engineers and construction teams for their dedication, commitment and relentless efforts in executing the prestigious project and encouraged them to continue maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality and engineering excellence.

Highlighting the significance of the station, Vaishnaw said the Ahmedabad Bullet Train Station is being developed as a fully integrated multimodal transport hub, seamlessly connecting the high-speed rail terminal with the conventional railway station, Metro network and city bus services to provide passengers with a smooth and efficient travel experience.

He further noted that the station’s architectural design draws inspiration from Ahmedabad’s iconic Patang (kite), symbolising the city’s rich cultural heritage while incorporating globally benchmarked infrastructure, advanced passenger amenities and modern engineering.

The review visit reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to the timely implementation of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project, leveraging cutting-edge engineering, integrated transport infrastructure and world-class passenger facilities to transform intercity mobility in India.
