AHMEDABAD, JULY 31

What if choosing a healthy meal could begin with a 25-second scan of your face? Ahmedabad’s health-conscious urbanites now have an intriguing new wellness proposition at Satvik Salaad, where artificial intelligence, clinical nutrition and traditional Satvik cooking come together to make healthy eating more personalised, convenient and accessible.

Launched at Prahladnagar as its first Healthy Food Experience Outlet, the Ahmedabad-based wellness food venture has moved beyond its cloud-kitchen beginnings to offer salads, nutritious bowls, wraps, soups, smoothies and cold-pressed juices, while introducing a facial-scan technology that recommends bowl options based on factors including skin tone, mood and other wellness-related inputs.

The scan takes around 25 seconds, giving the food experience a distinctly futuristic edge while the underlying philosophy remains rooted in wholesome ingredients and familiar Indian cooking.

For founder and Clinical Dietitian Divya Agrawal, the idea emerged from years of counselling people dealing with diabetes, obesity, PCOS, thyroid disorders and other lifestyle-related health concerns. Her experience revealed a recurring gap: most people understand the importance of healthy eating, but struggle to find food that is nutritious, delicious, convenient and trustworthy enough to become part of their everyday routine.

“With Satvik in every salad and wellness in every serving, this outlet marks the beginning of our mission to build a healthier Ahmedabad.” — Divya Agrawal, Founder, Satvik Salaad

When AI meets the healthy bowl

The facial-scan technology is among Satvik Salaad’s key differentiators. The brand says its approximately 25-second scan analyses factors such as skin tone, mood and other parameters to recommend suitable bowl options.

For consumers accustomed to making food choices based simply on taste, calories or dietary labels, the technology is intended to introduce a more personalised approach to everyday nutrition.

The idea is particularly relevant to urban consumers who increasingly seek personalised wellness, preventive health and convenient nutrition without having to spend hours planning every meal.

At the same time, Satvik Salaad’s proposition goes beyond technology. Its menu combines clinical nutrition principles with traditional Satvik cooking, seeking to make healthy food satisfying rather than restrictive.

Clinical nutrition with a home-kitchen soul

Unlike salad concepts that focus largely on raw vegetables, Satvik Salaad places considerable emphasis on digestibility. Its menu includes cooked, sautéed and blanched preparations, designed to be easier on the digestive system while retaining nutritional value.

Every meal is prepared using ingredients selected under the guidance of a clinical dietitian. The brand says its fruits and vegetables are ozone washed as part of its food-safety practices.

The menu spans nutritious salads and bowls as well as wraps, soups, smoothies and cold-pressed juices, providing customers with a broader alternative to conventional fast food and hurried meals.

The venture also offers a daily meal subscription model, enabling customers to receive freshly prepared, nutritionally balanced food at their doorstep.

The service is designed particularly for working professionals, students living away from home, senior citizens, health-conscious individuals and people managing lifestyle-related health concerns—consumers for whom planning, preparing and cooking balanced meals every day can be a challenge.

A family recipe becomes a wellness venture

The story behind Satvik Salaad is closely intertwined with the Agrawal family.

The venture was shaped by Divya Agrawal’s experience as a Clinical Dietitian and her collaboration with her mother-in-law, Kiran Agrawal, whose decades of experience in traditional Satvik cooking helped transform evidence-based nutrition into simple, digestible and familiar home-style meals.

The brand name itself carries a family legacy. Deepak Agrawal, an International Triathlete and entrepreneur, chose Satvik Salaad as a tribute to his mother, Kiran Agrawal, whose traditional cooking has nourished the family for generations.

Deepak’s own endurance journey has also influenced the venture’s philosophy. Having completed an Ironman Triathlon and subsequently the 600-km Super Randonneur cycling challenge, he believes that endurance and fitness are built not merely through intense training but through clean, wholesome eating and consistent healthy habits.

What began with personalised meal plans for a small number of patients gradually received an encouraging response from a wider clientele, eventually developing from a cloud kitchen into the new physical customer-experience outlet.

Healthy eating without the daily hassle

For Ahmedabad’s time-starved population, Satvik Salaad is positioning itself as more than a food outlet. Its subscription model seeks to address one of the biggest obstacles to sustained healthy eating—the daily burden of deciding what to eat, how to prepare it and whether the meal is nutritionally balanced.

By bringing dietitian-guided meals directly to customers, the venture hopes to turn healthy eating from an occasional resolution into a manageable everyday habit.

Speaking about the larger vision behind the brand, Divya Agrawal said:

“Satvik Salaad was born from a simple belief—that healthy food should be fresh, delicious, and accessible to everyone. Our dream is not just to serve meals but to inspire families to embrace a healthier lifestyle, one bowl at a time. This outlet is the beginning of a journey to build a healthier Ahmedabad through honest ingredients, mindful cooking, and a genuine passion for wellness.”

Wellness beyond the plate

Satvik Salaad’s health philosophy also extends to sustainability and community impact.

The venture says it sources quality produce through sustainable farming practices, supports small farmers and creates meaningful employment opportunities for women, promoting financial independence and community development.

Its plastic-free packaging further reflects its attempt to connect personal wellness with environmental responsibility.

For the founders, the Prahladnagar outlet is therefore more than a conventional food-and-beverage launch. It represents an effort to bring together AI-enabled personalisation, clinical nutrition, traditional food wisdom, convenience and sustainable practices under one roof.

The larger ambition is simple: to encourage people to view food not merely as something that satisfies hunger, but as an everyday tool to nourish the body, support families and build healthier communities.

And in a city where time is increasingly precious, Satvik Salaad’s proposition is equally simple: less guesswork, more nutrition—and perhaps a 25-second face scan before the first healthy bite.
