With Gujarat officially declaring 2026 as the ‘Year of Tourism’, the State on Thursday reinforced its ambition to emerge as India’s leading global travel destination as Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel inaugurated the 2026 edition of the Travel & Tourism Fair (TTF) at Mahatma Mandir, describing the event as a catalyst for showcasing Gujarat’s tourism strengths before the world.

The three-day TTF Ahmedabad 2026, organised by Fairfest Media, has brought together more than 900 exhibitors from 10 countries, along with tourism boards, hospitality brands, airlines, destination management companies, travel technology firms and tour operators, reaffirming Gujarat’s stature as Western India’s largest travel trade marketplace.

In his inaugural address, Bhupendrabhai Patel underlined the pivotal role played by TTF in strengthening Gujarat’s tourism landscape over the past two decades.

“Held in Gujarat for the past two decades, this fair has played a significant role in strengthening the State’s tourism ecosystem through its B2B travel trade exhibition.”

He added: “Moreover, it has provided a platform to promote tourist destinations, strengthen business partnerships, and bring together stakeholders from across the tourism sector.”

Highlighting the State Government’s major tourism initiative, the Chief Minister said: “With the State Government declaring 2026 as the Year of Tourism, this fair will also play an important role in showcasing Gujarat’s tourist destinations and tourism opportunities to a wider global audience.”

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi, Satpal Maharaj, Tourism Minister of Uttarakhand, Rohan A. Khaunte, Tourism Minister of Goa, Kuldeep Arya, Secretary, Tourism, Government of Gujarat, Vipin Garg, Commissioner of Tourism and Managing Director of Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited, Y. S. Chaudhari, Joint Managing Director of Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Limited, and senior representatives from the travel and hospitality sectors.

This year’s edition features Israel as the Featured Country, while tourism organisations from Vietnam, Sri Lanka, the UAE, Nepal, the USA, China, Thailand and Bhutan are showcasing their destinations and tourism offerings.

As the Host State, Gujarat occupies centre stage, while Goa, Uttarakhand, Odisha, Rajasthan, Kerala, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Punjab, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka are participating as Partner States. West Bengal, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Assam, Delhi and Meghalaya are participating as Feature States.

The exhibition also hosts leading hospitality groups, travel technology firms and tourism service providers, offering exclusive B2B networking opportunities during the three-day event.

Highlighting Ahmedabad’s strategic importance to India’s travel industry, Sanjiv Agarwal, Chairman & CEO, Fairfest Media, said: “A strong economy, rising disposable incomes and an exceptionally travel-active population make Gujarat one of India’s leading travel source markets.”

He further noted: “That is why TTF Ahmedabad has grown into the largest show in the TTF series, drawing more exhibitors than any other TTF we organise. For destinations, tourism boards and travel brands, it offers the most concentrated and efficient access to Western India’s travel trade ahead of the festive and winter travel season.”

Ahmedabad’s growing prominence as a travel hub is reflected in the impressive performance of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport, which handled over 1.38 crore passengers during FY 2025-26, including 1.14 crore domestic and 24 lakh international travellers, underlining Gujarat’s expanding connectivity and tourism potential.

Supported by leading national travel associations, TTF Ahmedabad 2026 is expected to further strengthen business partnerships, destination marketing and tourism investments while positioning Gujarat as a gateway for both domestic and international travel.
