NE BUSINESS BUREAU
AHMEDABAD, AUG 11

Tamil Nadu-based Milky Mist Dairy Food Limited has milked a powerful vote of institutional confidence ahead of its proposed initial public offering, raising ₹465.29 crore from 19 anchor investors at the IPO’s upper price band of ₹140 per equity share.

The dairy company has allotted 3,32,35,713 equity shares to the anchor investors, with the allocation priced at ₹140 a share, including a share premium of ₹138.

The headline number is significant not merely for the funds raised, but for the quality and diversity of institutions stepping into the anchor book — a mix that could put the Milky Mist IPO firmly on investors’ radar as the issue moves towards its public offering.

Marquee names pour into the ₹465-crore anchor book

The anchor book features participation from a broad spectrum of prominent domestic and international institutional investors.

Among the notable names are Zulia Investments PTE Ltd, a subsidiary of Temasek, and the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

The institutional line-up also includes Nippon Mutual Fund, HDFC Mutual Fund, ICICI Prudential Mutual Fund, 360 One, White Oak, Invesco Mutual Fund, Motilal Oswal Mutual Fund, Edelweiss Mutual Fund, HSBC Mutual Fund, Trust Mutual Fund and Union Small Cap Fund.

The participation of such a diverse institutional pool gives the anchor allocation added visibility ahead of the IPO and highlights the attention being attracted by the dairy food company among professional investors.

Domestic MFs take a big bite of the anchor allocation

Domestic mutual funds accounted for a substantial portion of the anchor allocation.

Of the total 3,32,35,713 equity shares allotted to anchor investors, 1,53,78,056 shares were allocated to nine domestic mutual funds applying through 13 schemes.

That translates into nearly 46.3% of the total anchor shares, underscoring the sizeable participation of domestic institutional capital in the pre-IPO allocation.

For prospective investors, the composition of the anchor book is an important indicator to watch — although anchor participation by itself is not a guarantee of IPO performance or future returns.

₹140 price band sets the stage for public issue

At the upper price band of ₹140 per equity share, the anchor allocation has mobilised approximately ₹465.29 crore for Milky Mist Dairy Food.

The company is now poised to take its public-market story to the next stage, with institutional participation providing an early window into the level of professional-investor interest surrounding the issue.

The anchor allocation also places the spotlight on the company’s positioning within India’s expanding dairy and value-added food market, where investors increasingly track brands with the ability to build scale across multiple dairy categories.

The IPO will have JM Financial Limited, Axis Capital Limited and IIFL Capital Services Limited as the Book Running Lead Managers to the issue.

Milky Mist’s IPO story now has a formidable institutional footprint

With ₹465.29 crore raised upfront, a sizeable domestic mutual-fund presence and marquee global institutions such as Temasek subsidiary Zulia Investments and IFC among the anchor investors, Milky Mist has begun its IPO journey with a closely watched institutional endorsement.

The real test, however, now shifts to the public issue — where the company will have to convert this early institutional appetite into sustained investor confidence.

For Milky Mist, the milk has already been poured into the anchor glass. Now investors will be watching how the IPO story fills it.
