At an age when most children are still discovering their favourite sport, Grade III student Ishita Joshi has already stepped onto a state-level podium—turning every rally into a statement of promise and every point into a lesson in perseverance.
Delhi Public School–Bopal, Ahmedabad, is celebrating the impressive performance of Ishita Joshi, who secured third position in the Under-9 Girls category at the 3rd Gujarat State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2026, held in Jamnagar from July 31 to August 2, 2026.
Competing against young paddlers at the state level, Ishita displayed a commendable blend of skill, determination, focus and sporting spirit, earning a place among the leading players in her age category.
The achievement is particularly encouraging as the Under-9 category represents the foundational stage of competitive table tennis, where young players begin translating basic technique, footwork and hand-eye coordination into competitive performance. Gujarat’s state ranking circuit, conducted under the aegis of the Gujarat State Table Tennis Association (GSTTA), provides young paddlers a platform to test themselves against peers from across the state.
Ishita’s podium finish also adds to the growing sporting culture at DPS-Bopal. The school has previously celebrated students achieving distinction in table tennis and other competitive sporting disciplines, underlining its emphasis on nurturing talent alongside academics.
For Ishita, the Jamnagar tournament is more than a medal—it is an early milestone in what could become a rewarding sporting journey. A bronze at the state stage today could well be the first flicker of a much bigger sporting dream tomorrow.
