Fifty centres. Five countries. And potentially thousands of dreams waiting to take flight. For Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the Super Kings Academy’s 50th-centre milestone is more than a number—it is a growing cricketing ecosystem designed to spot, shape and nurture the next generation of players.

India and Chennai Super Kings cricketer Shivam Dube on Friday launched the 50th Super Kings Academy centre at Vaishnav Sports Academy, Arumbakkam, Chennai, adding another significant milestone to the academy’s rapidly expanding journey.

The launch brought together cricket, education and sports development, with Anand Balakrishnan, Head–Sports Development, Vaishnav Sports Academy; Dr Archana Prasad, Principal, MOP Vaishnav College for Women; Sanjay Natarajan, Logistics Manager, Chennai Super Kings; Palani Amarnath, Zonal Head Coach, Super Kings Academy; and Sai Rupesh, Head Coach, SKA, Vaishnav Sports Academy, among the guests of honour.
Dube: ‘Some of you become like myself’
Dube, addressing the budding cricketers, turned the milestone into an opportunity to inspire the next generation.
“I have always loved coming to Chennai, and I congratulate the Super Kings Academy for completing 50 centres across the globe. I hope and wish that with these wonderful facilities many of you guys go on to become players like MS Dhoni, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Sanju Samson and some of you become like myself as well. All the best once again,” he said.
For the young players gathered at the new facility, the message carried particular resonance: today’s academy trainee could be tomorrow’s professional cricketer.

From Chennai to the world
Launched in April 2022, Super Kings Academy has grown into an international cricket-coaching network with more than 50 centres across India, the USA, Australia, Canada and Singapore.
The expansion is set to continue, with the academy planning to open centres in Dubai and Qatar shortly.
The 50th-centre milestone therefore represents more than geographical expansion. It reflects the CSK ecosystem’s attempt to create a consistent pathway for young cricketers—combining coaching, infrastructure, sporting discipline and exposure.
For Chennai, the new Arumbakkam centre adds another grassroots cricketing hub to a city with an enduring appetite for the sport.
Where dreams get a net session
The academy is designed to provide structured cricket coaching supported by state-of-the-art infrastructure and expert coaches, giving aspiring players an environment in which technique, fitness, discipline and match awareness can be developed from an early age.
And the academy’s growing footprint offers an intriguing possibility: a young cricketer beginning with a bat and ball at a neighbourhood centre could eventually find a pathway towards elite-level cricket.
That is the bigger promise behind the 50-centre landmark.
Half a century of centres may be the milestone today—but the real scoreboard will be measured in the number of young cricketers who turn potential into performance.
