AHMEDABAD, OCT 6

Love-all, Mouboni! The scoreboard could hardly have told a more inspiring story. Delhi Public School-Bopal, Ahmedabad Class XI student Mouboni Chatterjee served, smashed and battled her way to an impressive triple podium finish at the 6th Gujarat State Ranking Table Tennis Tournament 2026 in Bhavnagar, emerging champion in both the Under-17 and Under-19 categories and finishing runner-up in the women’s category.

Held from September 24 to 27, the tournament produced a performance that underlined not just Mouboni’s technical ability but also the consistency, temperament and competitive hunger that have marked her rise through Gujarat’s table-tennis circuit.

Her remarkable haul was:

  • Under-17 Girls – Champion
  • Under-19 Girls – Champion
  • Women’s Category – Runner-up

For a Class XI student to dominate two age-group categories and then challenge successfully in the women’s category is a result worth celebrating—and an encouraging indicator of the young paddler’s growing confidence against increasingly experienced opposition.

A champion’s journey built one rally at a time

Mouboni’s latest triumph is not an overnight success story. Her school’s official sports records chronicle a sustained journey of achievement in table tennis dating back several years.

She has repeatedly featured on the podium at Gujarat-level competitions across different age groups. In 2024, she produced a particularly memorable performance by winning the Under-15, Under-17 and Under-19 titles at the 4th Gujarat State Ranking Tournament in Vadodara.

Her record also includes strong performances in state and inter-district competitions in 2023 and 2024, showing how steadily she has progressed from a promising school-level paddler into one of the names to watch in Gujarat’s junior table tennis arena.

The latest Bhavnagar performance therefore represents more than three trophies—it is another significant milestone in a sporting journey shaped by persistence.

DPS-Bopal cheers its young champion

The achievement has also brought considerable pride to the DPS-Bopal family, which has consistently celebrated Mouboni’s performances and encouraged her sporting journey.

The school’s sports record has repeatedly used congratulatory messages for her achievements, wishing her continued success after her podium finishes. Its earlier records describe her performances with expressions such as “Congratulations and best wishes!”, reflecting the institution’s continued encouragement of her sporting ambitions.

The latest triple podium finish adds another sparkling chapter to that association.

For a young athlete balancing academics in Class XI with the demanding discipline of competitive sport, such consistency requires hours of training, physical conditioning, match preparation and, above all, the ability to return to the table after every lost point with renewed focus.

Three trophies, one powerful message

Mouboni’s three Bhavnagar finishes carry a larger message for young sporting aspirants: championships are won not merely with powerful strokes, but with patience, discipline, resilience and the courage to keep fighting when the scoreline becomes difficult.

Her success also demonstrates the value of giving talented schoolchildren the opportunity to pursue sporting excellence alongside academics.

The journey ahead is likely to bring tougher opponents, bigger tournaments and higher expectations. But if her latest performance is any indication, Mouboni is ready to take those challenges one serve, one rally and one match at a time.

For now, the message from Ahmedabad to this young champion is simple:

Keep your eye on the ball, keep your heart in the game—and keep dreaming big, Mouboni!

The table is yours to conquer.
