MUMBAI, OCT 9

In a financial world where money crosses borders, portfolios span continents and investors seek opportunities beyond their home markets, GIFT City is strengthening its ambition to become India’s gateway to international finance. Adding a new dimension to this evolving landscape, Ageas Federal Life Insurance (AFLI) has launched Aurum Advantage Plan, a multi-currency unit-linked life insurance plan that allows eligible customers to invest in US dollars, euros or pounds sterling while securing life insurance protection.

The launch marks the company’s entry into Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City), India’s international financial services hub, and signals its push to serve customers with cross-border financial interests through investment-linked insurance solutions.

Aurum Advantage offers exposure to three major asset categories—international equities, fixed income and gold—giving policyholders options to diversify their investments across markets and asset classes. The product is designed for customers seeking currency flexibility and access to international investment opportunities within a life insurance framework.

One plan, three international currencies

The plan allows eligible investors to choose among US dollars (USD), euros (EUR) and pounds sterling (GBP). The minimum investment threshold is USD 3,000, EUR 3,000 or GBP 3,000, depending on the selected currency.

Available to customers of any nationality, irrespective of residential status, the plan also caters to non-resident Indians (NRIs), overseas citizens of India (OCIs) and persons of Indian origin (PIOs), subject to applicable eligibility criteria and terms and conditions.

As a unit-linked insurance plan (ULIP), Aurum Advantage combines life insurance protection with market-linked investment opportunities. Returns are linked to the performance of the selected funds and are not guaranteed.

Flexibility across investment horizons

The plan offers multiple premium-payment options and fund strategies, allowing customers to select an approach suited to their financial objectives and risk appetite. Its features include partial withdrawals without a lock-in period, maturity benefits, loyalty additions and death benefits, subject to the policy’s terms and conditions.

The combination of multi-currency investment choices and life cover is intended to address the needs of internationally mobile customers and families managing financial interests across countries.

Commenting on the launch, Jude Gomes, Managing Director and CEO of Ageas Federal Life Insurance, said, “Customers with international financial interests are increasingly seeking solutions that allow them to invest across currencies and markets. Aurum Advantage Plan addresses this need by combining multi-currency investment options with life insurance protection. Our entry into GIFT City gives us a strong platform to serve customers across international markets with solutions designed for their evolving financial needs.”

From GIFT City to global markets

Through its GIFT City operations, Ageas Federal Life Insurance plans to serve customers across key international markets, including the Middle East, North America, Europe, the United Kingdom, Singapore and Australia.

The company also intends to expand its GIFT City portfolio with term insurance and pension products in the near future, signalling a broader push into cross-border insurance and long-term financial planning.

The launch adds to GIFT City’s expanding role as a platform for international financial services, offering insurers an avenue to develop products for customers whose financial needs extend beyond domestic markets.

For investors considering Aurum Advantage, the choice of currency and underlying funds will be important considerations. As with other ULIPs, investment values can fluctuate with market movements, and policyholders should examine charges, benefits, withdrawal conditions, currency-related risks and policy terms before investing.
