Can a smartphone do more than capture a selfie—bringing an entire group into the frame, turning everyday moments into shareable content and keeping pace with a generation that lives, creates and connects online? OPPO is betting that its new F35 Series can answer that demand as it celebrates a decade of its F Series in India.

Launched on Monday, the OPPO F35 Series comprises the OPPO F35 Pro 5G and OPPO F35 5G. Building on the brand’s original “Selfie Expert” positioning, the new series adopts the “Group Selfie Expert” identity, with a 50MP ultra-wide front camera offering a 100-degree field of view.

The launch marks 10 years of the F Series in India, during which OPPO says it has sold more than 30 million F Series smartphones. The latest models target young, digitally connected consumers who want to capture friendships, festivals, weddings, travel and everyday experiences without leaving anyone out of the picture.

Commenting on the launch, Goldee Patnaik, Head of Communications, OPPO India, said: “Over the last 10 years, the F Series has evolved alongside the changing ways in which consumers across India capture, connect and share their lives. In a market as diverse as India, every region has its own way of coming together and celebrating and Gujarat, with its rich culture of family, festivities and shared moments, is a great reflection of this spirit.”

“The F35 Series builds on this evolution with the 50MP Ultra-Wide Natural Selfie Camera and 100° field of view, bringing more people and more of the moment into every frame. With the Group Selfie Expert, we are taking the F Series’ decade-long imaging legacy forward in a way that reflects how consumers today come together, celebrate and create memories,” she added.

A wider lens for the social generation

The 50MP ultra-wide front camera is supported by AI Auto Wide-Angle Switch, designed to make group photography more convenient. The F35 Pro 5G adds Natural Tone 2.0, a 50MP main rear camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) and an 8MP ultra-wide rear camera.

Content creators get 4K video recording on both front and rear cameras, Ultra-Steady mode for more stable footage and Dual-View Video, which records through the front and rear cameras simultaneously. Portrait Mode, AI Popout and AI Remix Collage provide additional creative options for users who want to give their photographs and videos a distinctive finish.

The F35 5G also features a 50MP ultra-wide front camera with a 100-degree field of view and a 50MP main rear camera, extending the group-photography experience across the range.

Performance for gaming, streaming and multitasking

The F35 Pro 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7360 MAX processor and features a 5,000 sq mm SuperCool vapour-chamber system designed to dissipate heat during demanding use.

Its 17.22-cm 1.5K AMOLED display supports a 144Hz refresh rate, while the F35 5G offers a 16.69-cm FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Both models are designed to deliver smooth visuals for scrolling, gaming, video streaming and everyday content consumption.

Battery endurance meets rugged protection

Both handsets feature an 8,000mAh battery, 80W SUPERVOOC flash charging and a claimed six-year battery-durability design. OPPO says the battery is designed to retain more than 80% of its original capacity after up to 1,800 charging cycles.

IP69K, IP69, IP68 and IP66 ratings, Rainstorm Touch and military-grade shock resistance are among the listed durability features. Together, they are intended to provide added protection against water, dust and everyday knocks. Actual protection depends on test conditions and usage.

Running ColorOS 16, the phones also offer AI Recording, AI Ultra-Clear Documents, AI Call Guard and One-Tap Security Guard. OPPO’s Trinity Engine is designed to optimise system resources, while Extended Use Care 2.0 and six-year smoothness protection aim to sustain a responsive experience over time.

Who owns the memories—and how safe is the data?

As AI photography and cloud-connected services become more sophisticated, questions about the ownership, storage and security of personal photographs, biometric information and other user data are increasingly important.

Asked what safeguards protect users’ photographs and personal information, which AI features operate on-device and which rely on cloud processing, and what control consumers have over their data, a senior OPPO India official said: “Both the OPPO F35 Pro and OPPO F35 have in-built safeguards to protect the users. Hence, they do not have to worry about data leak.”

The assurance addresses a key consumer concern, but the response did not specify which AI functions are processed locally or in the cloud, the applicable data-retention arrangements, or the controls available to users over photographs and biometric information. Consumers would benefit from clearer, feature-specific disclosures on these issues.

Gujarat support and nationwide service expansion

Gujarat remains an important market for OPPO, which has 41 exclusive service centres across the state. The company’s wider after-sales network comprises more than 620 service centres across over 500 cities, with support in 19 languages.

OPPO is also expanding its Service Center 3.0 Pro format, with more than 60 premium centres operational and over 150 additional centres planned across India in 2026. Features include digital check-in, real-time queue updates, digital signage and redesigned service layouts.

Prices, colours and launch offers

The OPPO F35 Pro 5G is priced at ₹45,999 for 6GB+128GB, ₹49,999 for 8GB+128GB and ₹54,999 for 8GB+256GB. It comes in Sunrise Orange, Wave Blue and Twilight Brown.

The OPPO F35 5G costs ₹38,999 for 6GB+128GB and ₹42,999 for 8GB+128GB. Colour options are Wave Blue, Titanium Grey and Mist Pink.

Both models are available through mainline retail outlets, the OPPO India E-Store, Flipkart and Amazon.in. Offers include up to 10% instant cashback, no-cost EMI, up to 10% exchange bonus and zero-down-payment schemes, alongside additional festive offers on select products and services.

OPPO’s launch comes amid changing competitive dynamics in India’s smartphone market. The company cites IDC data showing 22% year-on-year growth and a 15.3% market share in the first quarter of 2026, compared with 12% a year earlier. It also cites more recent Indian market data placing it third with a 13.8% share, driven by growth in the above-₹20,000 segment.

With group photography, AI-assisted creativity, high-refresh-rate displays and durability claims at the centre of its pitch, OPPO is seeking to carry the F Series into its next decade. For young buyers, however, the experience will depend not only on what the cameras can capture, but also on how reliably the phones perform—and how transparently their personal data is protected.
