In an era when a degree alone may no longer be enough to prepare young people for a rapidly changing world, meaningful partnerships between educational institutions can turn classrooms into gateways to wider possibilities. MICA, Ahmedabad, and Kolkata’s Bhawanipur Education Society College have taken a step in that direction by signing a three-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand academic cooperation, encourage interdisciplinary learning and create fresh opportunities for students and faculty.
Signed on October 29, 2026, the agreement provides a collaborative framework for student exchange and internship opportunities, faculty and staff exchanges, joint research projects, conferences, curriculum development, academic resource sharing, seminars, workshops and community outreach initiatives.
The partnership seeks to bring academic strengths and institutional experience together, enabling students to connect classroom learning with industry practices while developing creativity, innovation and responsible leadership.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Piyush Sinha, Dean, MICA, said, “We are delighted to partner with Bhawanipur Education Society College at a time when education is entering what we call the Age of Imagination. Knowledge alone is no longer enough. Students need the ability to think creatively, communicate effectively, solve complex problems and work across disciplines.
“This collaboration brings together the academic strengths of both institutions and creates opportunities for students and faculty to learn, share ideas, undertake meaningful research and develop future-ready capabilities that can make a positive impact on industry and society. This association also furthers MICA’s diversity legacy by having more students from eastern and north eastern India.”
Prof. Dilip Shah, Rector and Dean of Students, Bhawanipur Education Society College, said the institution had consistently believed in giving students exposure beyond the classroom.
“Our partnership with MICA opens up exciting avenues for academic exchange, research, industry engagement, and experiential learning. We are confident that this collaboration will enrich the educational journey of our students and faculty while fostering innovation, creativity, and a broader national perspective,” he said.
The MoU will remain in force for an initial period of three years, providing a foundation for academic initiatives to be undertaken by mutual agreement.
The collaboration comes at a time when higher education institutions are increasingly exploring interdisciplinary approaches to equip students with skills that extend beyond conventional subject boundaries. By bringing together MICA’s expertise in strategic marketing and communication and Bhawanipur Education Society College’s academic ecosystem, the partnership seeks to create a wider platform for knowledge exchange, research and experiential learning.
