For the third year in a row, 20 women officers of the Afghan Defence forces are undergoing rigorous military training at the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai.
The four weeks of Military Training at Officers Training Academy includes Physical Training, Drill, Weapon Training, Tactical Training, Leadership and Human Resources Management, Information Technology and English Communication.

The current batch of Afghan women officers are from various branches of Afghan Army like Logistics, Human Resources, Infantry and Radio Communications.
These officers are in the service bracket of two to nine years in Afghan military. They reached Chennai on November 24 and since then undergoing training in the Academy.
The Officers have already undergone basic military training in their country in respective Arms/Services. Since OTA is one of the premier military academies of the world, it is imparting much needed exposure to modern training methods and facilities to these officers.
The lady officers are showing keen interest in various outdoor activities like Sports, Obstacles Training and Weapon Training. Infantry Tactics and Information Technology was the most preferred subject in indoor training, a release from the defence PRO said.
