To propagate the national integration ideals among the NCC cadets, the first-ever ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’ (EBSB) Camp was jointly organized by the NCC Directorate Gujarat, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu and DG NCC, Directorate of West Bengal & Sikkim.

The camp was conducted through a webinar from July 6 to July 11. A team led by Major Ulupi Rathod, ANO of 1 Gujarat Girls Bn of Ahmedabad Group coordinated the online camp.

“The camp saw the participation of 100 cadets – 50 from each directorate. The EBSB Camp provided an opportunity to the cadets of both the Directorates to share the information on various topics of their state such as cultural heritage, history, tourist places, cuisines and traditions to strengthen the fabric of national integration and mutual bonds between the two states through various online sessions. The camp also consisted of a language learning class to remove the linguistic barrier between the cadets to communicate and promote National Unity,” Wing Commander Puneet Chadha, PRO, Defence, Gujarat said.

As part of the virtual online camp, various competitions like debate, quiz and group discussion were also conducted. In the debate, cadets from Gujarat won the first & second positions. The quiz was also won by Gujarat.

Incidentally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had mooted the idea of EBSB during Rashtriya Ekta Divas on October 31, 2015 to establish cultural exchanges between people of different states of the country to promote national unity.
