Gujarat reported 1,152 coronavirus positive cases on Wednesday, which pushed the overall tally of the state to 74,390, the health department said.

With the death of 18 patients, its fatality count rose to 2,715, it said.
As many as 977 patients were discharged from various hospitals in the state during the day. This took the number of recovered cases to 57,393.
With this, the recovery rate rose to 77.15 per cent, the department said in its release.
As many as 50,124 samples were tested in the last 24 hours, the highest number of single-day tests conducted so far, it said.
Surat reported 272 new COVID-19 cases, the highest in the state on the day, followed by Ahmedabad at 159, Vadodara at 120, and Rajkot 95.
Bhavnagar district reported 46 new cases, Jamnagar 38, Amreli 35, Panchmahal 34, Mehsana 32, Gandhinagar 30, Gir Somnath, Kutch and Surendranagar 27 each, Bharuch 25, Dahod and Morbi 21 each, among others, the department added.
With six deaths, Rajkot reported the highest number of fatalities, followed by Surat at five, Ahmedabad four, Vadodara two, and Tapi one.
There are 14,282 active cases in the state. Of them, 75 patients are on the ventilators, while the condition of 14,207 others is stable, it said.
A total of 11,09,005 samples have been tested so far.

The number of coronavirus cases in Surat district rose to 16,554 with 272 new cases being reported on Wednesday, the highest in the state, said the Gujarat health department.
With five new fatalities, the death toll in the district rose to 710.
Surat city reported 195 new patients while the rural parts reported 77 new cases, the department said.
194 patients also recovered on Wednesday, including 156 in the city and 38 in the rural parts, taking the total number of recovered cases in the district to12,376, it said.
In Surat city, Athwa locality reported the highest 51 new cases on Wednesday, followed by Rander at 36.
Katargam locality has reported the highest number of 2,631 cases so far.
28,362 patients are quarantined in the city.
Of five deaths, Surat city reported three and rural parts two.
Surat city has reported a total of 557 deaths, while the rural parts have reported 153 deaths, district health officials said.

Ahmedabad count rises to 28,351; 4 die
The number of COVID-19 cases in Ahmedabad district rose by 159 to 28,351 on Wednesday, the Gujarat health department said.
With four patients succumbing to the infection, the death toll went up to 1,644, it said.
A total of 222 patients were discharged in the day, including 211 in the city and 11 in rural areas, raising the number of recoveries to 23,038.
This is for the second consecutive day that Ahmedabad reported more recoveries in a day compared to new cases.
At 4, the number of fatalities is one of the lowest in a day after dropping below 10 on July 4.
While 147 of 159 cases were reported from Ahmedabad city, 12 patients were found in rural areas, the department said.
All the four fatalities were reported from the city, it added.
Rural Ahmedabad has reported 1,454 COVID-19 cases so far, while the number of recoveries rose to 1,286.
This part of the district has reported 58 deaths so far, health officials said, adding that no new fatality occurred on Wednesday.
