On account of the 74th Independence Day, Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry M.L. Karmakar hoisted the tricolor at Ayakar Bhavan campus at Nungambakkam in Chennai on Saturday.
While addressing the gathering, Mr. Karmakar said “India has made rapid strides in various spheres of life and this progress has been made possible because of our contribution. In this regard, Income Tax Department is one of the departments collecting revenue for the government and is entrusted with the heavy responsibility of collecting enough resources for meeting the public expenditure of the nation. So, we should feel pride for our contribution to the country’s development and nation building.’’
Faceless Assessment Scheme
He also pointed out that the Prime Minister has launched the extension of the Faceless Assessment Scheme and that the Faceless Appeals would be launched in September 2020.
Mr. Karmakar explained about various aspects of Faceless Assessment Scheme and appealed to the Officers and Staff of the Income Tax Department to rise to the occasion and make the Faceless Assessment Scheme a big success. D.C. Patwari, DGIT (Inv.), Chennai also participated in the flag hoisting programme. Later officials planted tree saplings in Ayakar Bhavan campus, says a release.
