The 6th World Tamil Economic Conference (WTEC) and the Chennai Global Economic Summit 2019 will bring in sizeable Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), said Founder President and President of Madras Development Society V.R.S. Sampath here on Friday.
Speaking to reporters, Dr. Sampath said that the WTEC is being organised in Chennai for the third time for three days from December 28 to 30.
The conference will be inaugurated by Governor Panwarilal Purohit on December 28. Union Minister for Water Resources and Management, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, Puducherry Chief Minister V. Narayanaswamy, State Industries Minister M.C. Sampath, Former President of Mauritius Paramasivum Pillay among others are expected to address the conference, Dr. Sampath said.
V.G. Santhosam, Chairman of VGP group said that the conference was organised for the economic development of Tamils living around the globe.
Aboobucker, Chairman of Haj Association of India and one of the organisers of WTEC said, “It is a common platform where global Tamil entrepreneurs and industrialists can converge and share their knowledge and experience for the development of Tamil Nadu and Tamil Nadu is a heaven for safe investment. The state and central governments have readily accepted WTEC’s request to extend E-Visa on arrival of delegates even on Saturday and Sunday.”

Earlier, first and third WTEC conferences were held in Chennai.
The conference presents a unique, dynamic three-day forum of not-to be-missed networking experience for socio economic development. Participants includes, business leaders, entrepreneurs, professionals, academicians, self-employed groups, Chamber of Commerce, professional organizations etc.

The patronage from the state and central governments are appreciable, as both the governments’ are deputing Secretary-level officials to coordinate the organisers in arranging E-Visas on arrival of delegates from around the globe.
It is expected that 400 to 500 delegates from across the globe, Dr. Sampath said.
