PUDUCHERRY, DEC 20

The Puducherry unit of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) has urged the Union Territory Government to extend reservation benefits to over 50,000 migrant Scheduled Caste (SC) people residing in the union territory, as they have been living here without any social security benefits for over 5 decades here on Friday.

Addressing the reporters here, AIADMK Floor leader A. Anbalagan criticized the Chief Minister Narayanasamy for his opposition to the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), he said that the CM should prove his humaneness by extending reservation to migrant SCs.

Anbalagan said that the Chief Minister, had violated the oath of office by asserting that he would not implement the CAA. “We come directly under the control of the Centre and by stating that he will not implement CAA he has violated oath of office.” he said.
