The Hindi Fortnight Celebrations-2020 was celebrated at INS Valsura, Jamnagar with great enthusiasm from September 1 to 14. Various competitions such as poster-making, essay writing, dictation, expression and debate competitions in Hindi were organised by the unit which saw large participation, a Defence release said.

The closing ceremony commenced with the welcome address of the Hindi Liaison Officer. Winners of various competitions held during the fortnight were felicitated by the Commanding Officer. In addition, the Inter-Departmental Official Language Trophy awarded annually for best official language compliance was given to the ‘Medical Department’ of the establishment. The Intranet bilingual website of the unit and annual Hindi magazine of the unit Valtarang was also released by the Commanding Officer, the release added.

During the closing ceremony, trainees of the establishment recited Hindi poems, anecdotes and also enacted a short play.

During his speech, the Commanding Officer appreciated the efforts of the Official Language Unit and urged all personnel of the unit to increase the usage of Hindi language in their daily work.
