Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, who recently underwent heart surgery at Fortis Hospital in Delhi, passed away late on Thursday.
Paswan (74), who had been in active politics for more than five decades and is one of the country’s most noted Dalit leaders, has been hospitalised for the last few weeks.
The minister’s demise was informed by his son Chirag Paswan, who is also President of the Lok Janshakti Paty (LJP) in a tweet with a pix of his childhood with Ram Vilas Paswan. Further details are awaited.
