In spite of resistance to conduct NEET examination in Tamil Nadu, a greater percentage of candidates from Tamil Nadu have cleared NEET this year with 57.44 % compared to last year’s pass percentage of 48.57%. A total of 57,215 have cleared the exam from the state out of the 99,610 candidates that appeared.
Srijan R secured the eighth all India rank with a percentile of 99.9985369. Mohanaprabha Ravichandran and G Swetha from the state secured the 52nd and 62nd rank respectively.
A significant rise was observed in the number of candidates who wrote the examination in Tamil. A total of 17,101 candidates registered to write the exam in Tamil, as opposed to 1,017 in the previous academic year. In 2020, a little over one percent of all candidates wrote the exam in Tamil.
G. Swetha of Velammal Vidyalaya got AIR 62
G Swetha of Velammal Vidyalaya, Mel Ayanambakkam has secured AIR 62 with the score of 701 out of 720. She was followed by impressive performances by the students with 690 marks, 688, 683, 680, 677, 676 etc.

Determination wins over poverty for Jeevith Kumar
Jeevith Kumar of Silvarpatty, Periyakulam Govt Model School in Theni district for securing the highest NEET score in India among all the Govt Schools. Jeevith Kumar scored 664 out of 720 marks in NEET. His father eke out living by rearing goats and mother is a tailor by profession.
