Dr H V Hande (93), one of the close associates of MGR and Health Minister in his Cabinet has all praise for Superstar Rajnikanth’s habit of reading books, simplicity and down-to-earth attitude.
Speaking to navjeevanexpress.com, the the nonagenarian shares that “A week ago, I had given to Superstar Rajini Kanth a copy of my book, on how I had taken Puratchi Thalaivar MGR in 1984, when he was sick, in an Aircraft converted into a FLYING Hospital to Brooklyn in New York, etc. This morning, I had a pleasant surprise when I received a call from Mr. Rajini Kanth himself, saying that he liked my book so much that he could not keep it down till he finished reading it. This great man’s personal compliments for my effort, made me feel elated. Inwardly, I blessed him for his simplicity.”
“Puratchi Thalaivar MGR Marupiravi Eduththa Varalaru (The History of Revolutionary Leader MGR’s Incarnation)” was written by Dr H V Hande.
It is one of the books on matinee idol-turned-politician M G Ramachandran who was a legend. But, what lends credibility to the belief is that he continues to hold sway over Dravidian politics, decades after his death.
