AHMEDABAD, NOV 19
INS Sardar Patel, the Forward Operating Base (FOB) of the Indian Navy in Gujarat, announced that .it is holding a ‘Technical vendor base workshop’ at Porbandar on Friday, November 20.
According to a defence release, “The increase in presence of Indian Naval operating platforms at Porbandar and other ports has concomitantly increased the necessity of providing technical and logistics support. Gujarat is one of the prime maritime states of the nation, has a well-developed shipping industry. To expand the various technical support requirements of the Gujarat Naval Area, it is vital to create a strong and efficient vendor base in the region.
“This can be a “win-win” situation for both, the Indian Navy and private sector as well as potential business opportunities to regional firms who are willing to provide timely and qualitative technical assistance to IN Ships visiting Porbandar.”
Towards creating a strong vendor base in the region, there is a requirement to bridge the gap between technical requirements of the IN and technical maritime facilities available in the region. Accordingly, the ‘Technical vendor base workshop’ is scheduled for November 20, 2020 at Porbandar. This provides an ideal platform for aspirant technical firms to attend the workshop to grow their business and join the nation’s proud fighting force.
