As part of Indian Navy Week Celebrations, Wreath Laying Ceremony was held at War Memorial, Chennai on Friday, 4th December 2020. Rear Admiral Puneet Chadha VSM, Flag Officer Commanding Tamil Nadu & Puducherry Naval Area (FOTNA) and other senior officers from Tri-Services laid wreaths on the War Memorial paying respects to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation.

After the completion of Wreath Laying Ceremony, Motorcycle Rally from Chennai to various Naval Units across Tamilnadu was flagged off by FOTNA. 10 naval personnel are participating in the Rally.
The five-day long Motorcycle expedition would journey through naval units in the Tamil Nadu and Puducherry Naval Area proceeding up to Kanyakumari covering Nagapatnam, Rameshwaram, Tuticorin and Trichy districts and would return on 09 Dec 2020.

The expedition is aimed to showcase the Indian Navy amongst the citizens and to encourage the younger generation to choose the Indian Navy as a career option.
To commemorate the Indian Navy Day, the first edition of Tamilnadu & Puducherry Navy Day Run/Ride 2020 is being organised. The event is being conducted virtually on 4th, 5th and 6th December and over 3000 registrations for participation have been received.
Indian Navy ship INS Sukanya anchored off Chennai lighthouse and was illuminated at sunset on 04 Dec 2020 as part of Navy Day celebrations. The ship was illuminated from 1730 till midnight on 04 Dec 2020.
