Puducherry reported 49 fresh COVID-19 cases on Sunday, taking the tally to 37,492 while the toll remained at 619 as there were no fatalities. The day also saw 57 people getting discharged from various hospitals after recovery.
Puducherry region topped the list of fresh infections (25), followed by Karaikal 12, Mahe 10 and Yanam 2, the Director of the Health and Family Welfare Department S Mohan Kumar said in a release.
Cumulatively 37,492 cases have been confirmed, out of which 36,536 were treated and discharged. Active cases stood at 337. A total of 4.33 lakh samples have been tested so far, out of which 3.92 lakh were negative, he said.
The fatality and recovery rates in the Union Territory were 1.65 percent and 97.45 percent, he added.
