HQ Southern Western Air Command (SWAC) of the Indian Air Force at Gandhinagar on Saturday organised a one-day cycle rally from Chiloda to Sun Temple, Modhera covering 195 Km to commemorate 50 years of the Indo-Pak 1971 war with the slogan “Har Kaam Desh ke Naam”. A team of 17 cyclists took part in the rally, a Defence release said.
En route, the cyclists interacted with the local populace to spread awareness about the Indian Air Force. The event was flagged off by Air Vice Marshal VK Garg, Senior Maintenance Staff Officer, HQ SWAC. Cycling enthusiasts were welcomed back on the same day by Air Marshal Sreekumar Prabhakaran, Senior Air Staff Officer, HQ SWAC.
