As many as 910 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected in Gujarat in the last 24 hours, taking the caseload to 2,40,105, the state health department said on Friday evening.
Six patients with viral infection died during this period, taking the death toll to 4,268, it said in a release.
With 56,970 tests in the last 24 hours, the total number of tests conducted in the state went up to 93,30,491.
Three patients died in Ahmedabad, two in Surat, and one in Rajkot.
With 1,114 patients getting discharged on Friday, the tally of recovered patients went up to 2,25,206.
There are 10,631 active cases in the state now.
The highest number of cases – 191 – emerged in Ahmedabad district, followed by 153 in Surat, 138 in Vadodara, 83 in Rajkot, 33 in Gandhinagar, 32 in Kheda, and 23 in Dahod.
Gujarat’s recovery rate has gone up to 93.79 percent.
During the day, two persons tested positive in the adjoining union territory of Dadra Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.
Of the total 3,341 persons found positive for coronavirus in the territory since the outbreak, two have died, 3,329 have recovered and 10 cases are still active.

Ahmedabad sees 191 cases, 3 deaths; 199 discharged
The daily addition of COVID-19 cases in Ahmedabad dipped below the 200-mark as 191 people were detected with the infection in the last 24 hours, an official said on Friday.
The district’s caseload now stands at 56,603, while the discharge of 199 people took the recovery count to 51,406, he informed.
Three deaths during the day took the toll to 2,229, the official said.
“Of the new cases, the highest for any district in the state, 184 were from the city, which also accounted for 191 of the people discharged,” he added.
