Major General Ajeet Singh Gahlot took over as General Officer Commanding, Battle Axe Division on Wednesday, a Defence release said.
The General Officer is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla, Pune. He was commissioned into the 6/11 Gorkha Rifles in June 1989 and has commanded his parent unit. The General Officer has attended and excelled in all mandatory and competitive Army courses.
He has vast experience of serving in various prestigious command and staff appointments in varied terrain. He was Deputy Military Secretary at Headquarters Eastern Command before taking over the Battle Axe Division.
