Air Force Station Vadsar celebrated 32nd National Road Safety Week with the motto ‘Save Yourself to Save Your Family’ from Monday to Friday, February 8 to 12, a Defence release said.
The event was flagged off by the Chief Technical Officer and the participants were seen chanting road safety slogans quite enthusiastically along with many hoardings, signboards, and various handmade road safety placards. An appeal was made to all the Air Warriors and their families and a pledge was also taken to obey traffic rules and to follow the norms of road safety.
A quiz and poster competition about road safety were conducted to spread safety awareness among the masses. The importance of road safety was stated before all by Road Traffic Officer (RTO), Santej. The due focus was given to the relevance of valid vehicle registration, driving licenses, insurance, and pollution check. Representatives of reputed automobile companies conducted health checks of vehicles of the Air Warriors.
Air Commodore Vineet Jindal, Air Officer Commanding, AF Stn Vadsar witnessed the event. He marked this as a symbol of good national character and urged the people to make that an ongoing process to create a long-term and sustainable impact on society.
