Nineteen-year-old Surajit Tripura, who works as a guest service associate at Absolute Barbecues (AB’s) in Guwahati, is the talk of the town for his eye-catching dance moves. A video showcasing Surajit’s dance moves in front of guests at Absolute Barbecues, has since gone viral.
Surajit, who belongs to Tripura, and has been working in Guwahati for some time idolizes popular dancer Raghav Juyal who now has shared Surajit’s video on Instagram.
Expressing his joy in becoming the latest internet sensation, Surajit said: “I feel overwhelmed the way guests and staff at AB’s treat me. It is not less than a dream to see guests talking so nicely to me, ask me to dance with them, and even take selfies with me.”
“I never thought I would ever get recognition from my idol Raghav Juyal, but when he shared my video on his Instagram status, that moment made my day. This gesture has encouraged me, even more, to take my passion seriously so that one day I share the same stage with Raghav sir,” Surajit added.
A dance aspirant, Surajit comes from Saboom in Tripura where he completed his higher secondary at Brajendra Nagar Higher Secondary School. Dance videos on YouTube attracted him from childhood, from where he started to dance and following Raghav Juyal’s dance moves. He joined Absolute Barbecues restaurant in Guwahati for livelihood where his talent was observed by the management and encouraged to pursue his passion.
“When we came to know about Surajit’s dancing talent, we encouraged him to dance during staff parties and also in front of the guests at the restaurant. Soon his dance becomes so popular that guests visited our restaurant just to see his dance. One of them made a video when Surajit was dancing which now has gone viral,” said Utpal Das, Cluster Manager at AB’s.
Surajit has always loved to dance and he hopes to become a professional dancer one day. Catching the eyeballs, Surajit is now getting a lot of requests to participate in dance reality shows, and management at AB’s are keeping a track of all the opportunities so that he gets a bigger stage.
