Isha Arokiya Alai on Thursday announced that it is organizing free medical camps at Thondamuthur and Devarayapuram villages on Sunday, February 21 and 28, respectively. Both camps will be held from 8 am to 1 pm. Residents of surrounding villages can also participate in the camps and get the benefits, a release said.
On February 21, the free eye check-up and dental camp are scheduled at Visvesvaraya Vidyalaya Matriculation School in Thondamuthur. The camp is being conducted in association with Aravind Eye Hospital and Muthipalayam Friends Public Charity Forum.
On February 28, the free eye check-up and dental camp are scheduled at Devarayapuram Government Primary School. It is being organized in association with Aravind Eye Hospital and All Is Well Blood Donation Movement.
Similar camps were already held in the villages of Puluvapatti and Karadimadai this month and received an overwhelming response from the rural communities in and around these villages.
Arokiya Alai is a grassroots public health awareness campaign of Action for Rural Rejuvenation introduced in 2008. The initiative encompasses health awareness events and free general & multi-specialty medical camps. The events and camps are conducted across rural Tamil Nadu to create awareness on diet, nutrition, disease prevention, personal hygiene, and sanitation.
