Chennai Metro Rail Limited will operate feeder services from Government Estate and AG-DMS metro stations to Marina Beach on Kaanum Pongal day (on January 17).
Commuters will also be charged half the price of the ticket fare from January 15 to 17 across the 45 km metro rail network as CMRL has introduced 50% discounts on tickets. In October 2019, CMRL announced 50% discount on tickets in a bid to encourage people to use the transit facility. The discount is available on all metro travel tickets except for trip pass and pass for unlimited rides, a release said.
