Gujarat on Monday reported 778 fresh coronavirus positive cases and 11 fatalities, taking the tally to 8,17,012 and the toll to 9,944, the state health department said.

With 2,613 patients being discharged during the day, Gujarat’s cumulative count of recoveries rose to 7,90,906, leaving the state with 16,162 active cases, the department said in a release.
Gujarat’s case recovery rate improved further to 96.80 percent on Monday.

At 181, Vadodara reported the highest number of new cases in Gujarat in the day, followed by 120 in Ahmedabad, 115 in Surat, 47 in Rajkot, 24 in Jamnagar, 16 in Bhavnagar among other districts, it said.
Ahmedabad reported three COVID-19 fatalities, Surat two, Vadodara one etc. the department said.
A total of 2,59,192 people received COVID-19 vaccine jabs in Gujarat during the day, taking the count of doses administered so far to 1,86,55,846, it said.
A total of 1,86,825 doses were administered to people in the age group of 18 to 44 years in the day, raising the number of the beneficiaries in this group in Gujarat to 26,62,353.

Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu reported two new COVID-19 cases and 24 recoveries during the day.
The case count in the UT stands at 10,393 of which 10,225 patients have recovered so far, leaving the UT with 164 active cases. The overall COVID-19 toll in the UT stood at four, officials said.
