Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat will inaugurate its newly-built headquarters, Dr Hedgewar Bhavan in Maninagar, on February 15, sources said.
The new green building has come up after demolition of the 53-year-old RSS headquarters which had hosted M S Golwalkar, Bhartiya Jan Sangh’s Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, the then prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Narendra Modi among other leaders.
According to RSS Sah-Prachar Pramukh Hitendra Mojidra, “Built at a cost of around Rs 5 crore on a 1,500 square metre plot, the building will have 26 rooms with basic facilities and different conference rooms. The biggest hall will have a solar panel for its electricity needs. We think we will get 45 KW permission from the authorities for solar power. The building is spread over five floors and has a two-tier basement for parking. It is a vastu-compliant as per traditional Indian science. The terrace will have a catchment facility for water harvesting. It will also have an exhibition hall to showcase the RSS history.”
Bhagwat will also address a gathering on ‘India’s role in global context’ as part of Shree Guruji Vyakhyanmala. It will be held at Dinesh hall at Income tax.
On February 16, Bhagwat will address RSS workers from all over Gujarat at TransStadia in Kankaria.
